Amazing maps provide a new perspective of the lakes

I’ve always been a fan of maps but some new maps of Great Lakes water currents take the cake. These unusual maps are beautiful to the point of approaching works of art.

The maps are just the latest in a long line of excellent products generated by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory in Ann Arbor.

I found the maps mesmerizing  — just like the Great Lakes. Check them out here.
