It’s no secret that the planet is warming. Recent data show that 2012 was the hottest year on record in the U.S.
The warming trend doesn’t bode well for the Great Lakes. Ice cover on the lakes has dropped dramatically over the past half century, Lake Superior is warming up and water levels in lakes Michigan and Huron are at record lows.
What I found most interesting in the NBC report were the graphics used to illustrate climate change. The graphics showed that the U.S. is experiencing far more record high temperatures than record low temperatures. The piece is worth watching, but you have to wait for an annoying 60-second add at the beginning.
